TRANSPORT TO LILLEHAMMER
Travelling to the Lillehammer in Norway is easy. Lillehammer is located right off the E-6 highway which is the major travel artery from southern to northern Norway. By car, Lillehammer only two hours from Oslo, four hours from Trondheim and five hours from Ålesund.

If you are arriving by plane, just take the bus or train from the Oslo International Airport Gardermoen to Lillehammer. When in the town, buses leave about every 30 minutes to most of the local attractions in the area, and there are frequent train departures to both Oslo and Trondheim.
Lillehammer does not have an airport, but Norway´s main international airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen, is located only 145 km (90 miles) from Lillehammer. There are frequent train departures from the airport terminal (takes 1 hour 45 minutes to Lillehammer), and you can also rent a car at the airport.
Train Oslo - Lillehammer
The railway station is located in the basement of the airport terminal - easily accessible by escalator from the arrival hall. There are separate platforms for the Airport Express Trains and other trains.

All Inter City trains between Skien in the south and Lillehammer in the north (via Oslo) serve Oslo Airport Gardermoen at intervals of 1 hour during most of the day. In addition the long distance and night trains to and from Trondheim serve the airport´s railway station. Travel distance from Oslo central station to Gardermoen airport is approx 30 minutes and from Gardermoen airport to Lillehammer approx 1hr 45 minutes. Both then refer to the airport.
Travelling with children

One child under the age of 16 travelling with an adult holding a full price ticket, travels for free. On most medium and long distance trains there is a toddlers' compartment, which is a special compartment for people travelling with small children under the age of 2. There is a special toilet, nappy-changing facilities and a a chair for toddlers etc. Additional children between 4 and up to 16 years qualify for 50% discount on the price of an adult ticket, allthough no discount is given on supplements and/or seat reservations. The children/family compartment is specially designed for children between 2-12 years, accompanied by adults who want to let the children play but still be able to keep an eye on them. The compartment contains comfortable seats for the adults, and a play area for children at the other end.
Bus Oslo airport Gardermoen - Lillehammer Hafjell
Starting December 6th Nordfjordekspressens (route 147) morning and afternoon departure will make a stop at Hafjell ski resort. (Hafjell Alpinsenter) The evening departure will not make a stop.This applies to both northbound and southbound busses. You will now be able to go with Nordfjordekspressen from Oslo and Gardermoen airport to Hafjell ski resort. Check time table
Sandefjord Airport Torp (Oslo airport Torp)
The airport is situated about 10 km from the Sandefjord train station south of Oslo. From Sandefjord to Oslo there are many train departures and the travel time is less than 2 hours. Between Torp airport and Sandefjord train station there are bus/taxi connections and the travel time is about 20 minutes. You can travel by train to/from Sandefjord to Lillehammer by train (4 hours).

Bus information:
Lillehammer Skysstasjon is the main transport terminal for buses, trains and taxis (Phone 61 22 20 20) You can also call 177, when you are in Norway.
Nor-Way Bussekspress services to/from Oslo run three or four times daily. To/from the Western Fjords, buses pass through Lillehammer several times daily.
There's also one daily run to/from Bergen. Rail services run 12 to 18 times daily between Lillehammer and Oslo and four to six times daily to/from Trondheim.
You will find the tourist information at the Lillehammer Skysstasjon. From Lillehammer there are ski buses going to and from Hafjell alpine resort and Nordseter/Sjusjoen cross-country ski areas.
